(14) It will be well to continue the records of

rainfall, and discharge from gathering-grounds.

If

not already done, rain-gauges should be established on the several gathering-grounds. The weak point in the

experimental data, available up to date is the absence of

any measurement of the overflow from the reservoirs, The existing bywashes do not lend themselves to

accurate measurement of the overflow.

In new constru3-

tions, it will be well to arrange the overflows so that

a fair approximation to the disonarge may be obtained.
